Any thoughts on getting a business credit card as a non-US citizen?

Hey guys,

I have a deep question about business credits.
I want to get a business credit, but I am concerned about liability. I have been selling on Amazon for a year and I know exactly how risky it is. Amazon may suspend & withhold all funds at any moment. I will not be able to pay off my credit if it happens. I run an LLC and I am not a US citizen, so I’m a little bit covered. But I also know about piercing the corporate veil.

How does it work exactly, is it easy to file a bankruptcy and close LLC to cover my personal ass?

It’s not my thing. In everything I did, I always had the mindset that no matter what goes wrong, I will pay my debts, even if I could get away through bankruptcy. It’s better to consult with a business attorney and/or a financial advisor. Yes, people can get away by filing for bankruptcy, but you need to know what to do. If the loan is secured, they will come after your personal belongings.

What do you mean by “secured loan”? I am looking at SellersFi or a similar service that offers a credit line without a personal guarantee.

Business credit often requires a personal guarantee, which makes you personally liable if the business cannot repay the debt.

What if no personal guarantee required?

You liquidate the bussines and close the llc.

So it’s 99% safe to accept such loans?

Yes. But you can find loans without personal guarantees.

I believe that with a limited liability company, that’s it. The liability is limited to the assets of your company. As long as you don’t breach any laws on managing a company, in case of financial issues, any creditors could only go after the company and not your personal assets.
