Hi everyone
I’ve always been sending my inventory to FBA, but recently Amazon restricted the amount of inventory I can store.
I have a new product currently being produced in China (500 units). It is considered oversize since it’s quite large and weighs around 33 lbs.
I’m now considering the option of AWD (Amazon Warehousing and Distribution), but I don’t really know much about it yet.
I was thinking about maybe sending 200 units to FBA and 300 units to AWD, but I’m not sure if that would be cost-effective.
If anyone has experience with this or can guide me on what would be the best approach, I would really appreciate it
I suggest using a hybrid strategy (FBA + FBM).
Send a portion of your inventory to FBA to take advantage of Prime and higher conversion, then keep the rest as FBM to avoid storage limits and high fees on oversized items.
This way, you get the best of both, steady sales from FBA and flexibility from FBM.

AWD can help, but it’s not always the cheapest for oversized, heavy items like yours. Storage and inbound fees add up quickly. A split (200 FBA / 300 AWD) works if you want steady replenishment without hitting limits. Also consider a 3PL for cheaper bulk storage, then drip feed FBA. Run a full cost comparison before committing, margins matter here.
