Amazon + Shopify seller here, anyone else feel like the data is gaslighting you?

I feel like I spend way too much time pulling reports, exporting CSVs, and trying to make sense of trends. Half the time, by the time I understand what happened last week, it’s already too late.

How do you analyze your data? Do you rely on the platform dashboards, third-party tools, or just instinct?

Also, if you could wave a magic wand and get one insight instantly every day, what would it be?

I’m about to start selling on Amazon and the seller amp app is exhausting.

Many sellers feel the same frustration because Amazon and Shopify dashboards often present delayed or fragmented data, which makes it hard to act quickly.

Some rely on third-party tools like SellerAmp, Helium 10, Jungle Scout, or DataHawk for Amazon and apps like Triple Whale or Glew for Shopify, since these consolidate trends and automate reports.

Others build custom dashboards in Google Data Studio or Power BI by connecting APIs, which reduces the manual CSV work. Instinct plays a role, but most sellers try to pair gut feeling with hard numbers to avoid bias.

If I could wave a magic wand for one daily insight, it would be a real-time breakdown of profit after all fees, advertising spend, and returns across both platforms, since that’s the clearest picture of business health.
