I want to do FBA wholesale on Amazon, so which category and which brand should I sell?
Hello @Musharafgujjar,
thank you for joining. As a newbie, you need to know what you want to sell and which category.
It also depends on your own location. You will need to source products and have them shipped to Amazon’s warehouses. Selling in Europe will require a VAT registration.
If you are planning to sell in the US, then you will need to either find products which are already in the US or have them go through customs clearance, if imported.
For starting FBA wholesale, it’s best to choose a category with steady demand, manageable competition, and brands that don’t have heavy distribution restrictions or constant IP complaints. Categories like Home & Kitchen, Office Products, Pet Supplies, and Grocery (non-perishable) are beginner-friendly and tend to offer replenishable products with consistent sales. As for brands, look for those that aren’t exclusive or locked down with strict brand protection, brands like Scotch, Sharpie, Duracell, Lysol, Crayola, Rubbermaid, or certain grocery labels like Twinings or Barilla are often easier to work with through distributors. Avoid brands like Nike, Apple, or major cosmetics companies unless you have an authorized supplier, as they’re heavily restricted and carry high risk of IP claims. Start by building a relationship with a few reputable wholesale suppliers, get ungated where needed, and test small batches to validate product performance before scaling.
