Amazon asking for Transparency barcodes?

Hi people,

so I have had something new come up today, I’m an fba seller and I purchase my things from wholesaler/suppliers but Amazon are asking for transparency codes.

I have looked and my product doesn’t have any to input, it just has its normal barcode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If they are asking and you don’t have, you just lost all your inventory in FBA. If a brand has spent the money for the codes you are not playing with a brand that will let you off the hook.

Not sure how you were able to even list those items, I was under the impression you must have the codes to list. Hopefully its all a big mistake.

Transparency Codes are applied by the prep center or seller. You need to work with Amazon for the label and print out as you would your ASIN.

It seems as if your Brand went with transparency codes on their new packaging, and your distibutor still has the old packaging.

I agree with @skeeter. The whole Transparency barcodes thing is a complete nightmare. This summer, Amazon somehow enrolled thousands of various non-brands (understand seller’s storefront name inserted in the brand field) into Transparency. Many of those “brands” are dormant and apart from their name being incorrectly inserted into the brand field of irrelevant ASINs by the listing creators, they have no presence on Amazon and their owners have been suspended from selling years ago.

Now, tons of established listings are getting restricted if you don’t have the Transparency barcodes from these non-brands. Your only option is a removal order. There is no way how to get this lifted, even if the “brand” is completely irrelevant to the ASIN and product.

The OP might have to lawyer up on that, pretty sure the goods are frozen due to the “IP” issue. That is pretty dirty thing to do, change the game after the OP sends in the product. Hopefully amazon will do the right thing and release the product.
