Account Level Reserve

Sorry, I know this has been asked hundreds of times; but I understand under the new scheme (think it came in this month for UK) my order disbursements are available from delivery date +7 days.

So if the amount (which I can’t disburse) is from say 20 dispatched orders over the past week, will I start to see a portion of that total available to disburse soon but still some will be in reserve (i.e those orders that havent yet reached the delivery date +7 days)? and will still be unavailable? Is that how it works?

So ultimately, instead of disbusing an amount for orders placed in the last 24 hours (as previously), I’m now going to be disbursing amounts for orders from about 10 days ago. Have I got that about right?

That is roughly correct.

Thanks. My other great concern is, as we buy RM postage through Amazon which is standard and untracked 3nd class, there is naturally no delivery date on each order. I looked this up and Amazon state ‘In the absence of valid tracking data, we will use the latest estimated delivery date (EDD).’ But I don’t see any EDD on my orders that I’m still awaiting payment from (perhaps not looking in right place?). I am naurally concerned that if there is no delivery date or EDD I will never see the funds!

Or is the ‘Deliver by:’ stated on my orders, the EDD? So for instance on this order it states: ‘Deliver by: Wed, 7 Aug 2024 BST to Mon, 12 Aug 2024’. So for this order I would expect payment to be made 12 August +7 days? Or not?

Yes, the EDD is the “Deliver By” date.

Once you get into a cycle, you won’t have to think about payment dates. Just assume, as a rule of thumb, that the money will be in your account around 2 weeks after you despatch the orders.

Thanks again. This is what concerns me. My last manual disbursement then payout was 20th Aug (i.e two weeks ago). Then this account level reserve stuff kicked in and I’ve had zero amount available to disburse ever since (all sales totals each day being added consecutively to the account level reserve amount). It states in the summary page my next scheduled transfer initiation date is 03/09/2024 (today) but then worryingly states “However, if your available balance remains £0.00, no transfer will be initiated on that date.” …Available balance is still £0.00 currently. I’ll keep checking if that changes between now and midnight. I’ve only one small deferred transaction so it isn’t that.

The account level reserve is really annoying. I have it on the Netherlands or Poland accounts, which were recently launched.

Usually, it takes around a month for any pending balance to go to available balance. So, what you described is correct.

Also, you can still appeal the reserve and have it removed from your account:

If you need to extend the DD7 policy exclusion until September 2025 for your Amazon seller account, please follow these steps:

  1. Send an email request from your Amazon email address to [email protected]

  2. In the email, make sure to include your Merchant token. Your Merchant token is a unique identifier for your seller account, and it’s essential to include it in the email for proper identification and processing of your request.

  3. Once you’ve sent the email with your Merchant token, Amazon will review your request and provide further instructions or assistance as needed.

Thanks Kika, did this and got approved. So will have to deal with ths next year now! Thanks for the tip!

That’s great to hear, congrats!
