Account failed video identity verification

Hi all

I created a new Amazon account back in April, and 15 days ago from today, it was deactivated by Amazon, requesting identity verification. Today, I had an interview, and right after the interview, they sent me this email.

Yes, this means Amazon flagged your account during video verification, they believe the information you provided might be linked to another suspended account or looks risky.

Once they send the “account won’t be reactivated” email, it’s final. You can still appeal by emailing them with a full explanation and proof that all documents and information are legitimate and belong only to you, but honestly, the success rate is low at this stage.

Did you use your own name and address, or was it set up under another person or company?

You had a previous seller account? Sounds like you are linked to your previous seller account.

We’ve all been through many hurdles on Amazon, but at this point, we usually understand why something happened and how to fix it because things are clearer now. I’ve seen the email you shared elsewhere, and this kind of message doesn’t come without reason.

ID verifications don’t just appear out of the blue - and even if they do, if everything is correct, Amazon isn’t stupid; they will verify you. I’m not saying anything specific, but go through all the details you provided to Amazon when opening your account and fix anything that isn’t right first, as there must be something that triggered the account suspension and caused the ID verification to be declined.
