Question about avoiding placement fees when shipping to USA FBA

I understand it has to be at least five identical boxes, but do I need to ship all five on the same day?

What is the maximum timeline for getting all five boxes shipped out?

For example, can I ship one box every two days, one per week, one per month, or even one every two months?

Hello, I’m a freight forwarder. Do you need international logistics?

Amazon’s rule focuses on the shipping plan’s validity, not a strict “same-day” requirement; typically, all boxes in one plan need to be delivered to the FBA warehouse within 30-60 days of creating the plan.

When you use Amazon’s Inventory Placement Service (to avoid multi-site placement fees in the US), the “five identical boxes” requirement refers to the shipment plan itself , not to how many separate days you physically hand parcels to the carrier.

In practice, you create one shipment in Seller Central that specifies at least five identical cartons of the same SKU, and Amazon expects the entire shipment to be dispatched as a single consignment.

You can’t stretch that shipment out over weeks or months—Amazon requires all units in a shipment to be picked up and delivered together within the carrier transit window, usually within a few days of shipment creation, otherwise the shipment may be closed, inventory refused, or fees applied.

If you want to send one box every few days or weeks, you’d need to create a new shipment each time, and each new shipment would again need to meet the carton minimums to avoid placement fees. In short: the five boxes must move as one shipment; you can’t space them out.

When you create a delivery plan according to the standard process, Amazon will generate three options: delivery to 1, 3, or 5 addresses. You can choose to ship to five different addresses Shipping to 5 different addresses will not incur any additional inventory placement fees.
