Lost inventory reimbursement reversal. Inventory found months later!

I shipped 1000 items to Amazon at the beginning of November 2022 however the warehouse lost all of the items. I was therefore reimbursed in December for this error. Amazon have today found 997 of the items and have reversed the reimbursement. The item was very seasonal and for use during the colder months so I will be unable to sell now.
What would be the best course of action for me? Any advice would be appreciated!

You have a few options;

  1. You can remove them all from FBA and return them again in November
  2. You can leave them in FBA and absorb the monthly and aged inventory surcharge fees
  3. You can hope there will be an “inventory cleaup” date
  4. You can run a pmotional offer to attract shoppers that want to take advantage of shopping early

2023 FBA monthly storage fee and aged inventory surcharge changes

It will be up to you to determine what will have the least impact on your business.

Thank you for the tips @FunkyMonkey, I decided to leave them in where they are and turn on PPC.
