Dropshipping is only allowed if you are the seller of record, meaning your name appears on all invoices, packing slips, and external packaging, and the supplier cannot be visible to the customer in any way. In practice, most retail or wholesale dropshipping models violate this, which leads to late shipments, invalid tracking, customer complaints, and eventually suspension in Amazon Seller Central.
Sellers who succeed usually use dropshipping only as a short-term testing method with compliant suppliers, then quickly move to holding stock, FBA, or using a proper 3PL. For most beginners, dropshipping on Amazon is high risk with low reward compared to FBA, wholesale, or even online arbitrage.
